Juanita Torres, 67, of Amarillo, TX passed away on December 6, 2020.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 P.M., Friday, December 11, 2020, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 12, 2020, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Juanita was born in Cleburne, TX on November 9, 1953, to Marin and Ramona Anez.

Juanita married Jose H. Torres on July 15, 1972. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked for AISD for 30 years before retiring in 2013.

Juanita was a member of St. Mary’s Cathedral.

Juanita loved angels and has a beautiful collection. She is now our guardian angel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Leonel Anez, Marin Anez, and Alfredo Anez; and sisters, Dora Gonzalez, Jesusita Anez, and Alma Anez.

Survivors include her three sons, Jose H. Torres Jr., of Amarillo, TX, Marin Torres and wife Kristy, of Argyle, TX, and Alex Torres, of Amarillo, TX; one brother, Ernesto Anez, of San Antonio, TX; one sister, Aleselda Vera, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Isaiah Torres, Javier Torres, Matteo Torres, and Mia Torres.

  1. It’s been 2 weeks today mom. I miss you and I love you. I’m sorry for how things went down but know that everyone was calling to check on you and praying. I promise you Chela and Alex will be ok. I miss your voice and I miss your phone calls. Nothing will be the same without you but we will see each up the road. Tell Dad we miss him too and give him a hug from all of us. Please look out for us and the kids. We love you mom.

You were a good mother to your family. I could see the joy and pride in your face when you talked about them. I will miss you my Dear Friend

  13. The love that Juanita showed while at North Heights was infectious, and reflected the love she shared with everyone. The streets of heaven are crowded with angels to welcome her home. Every time we think we’ve reached our capacity to send out love for others, we can look up and be reminded that that capacity may well be limitless, and Juanita is an example of that.

  14. Juanita will be missed by so many people that loved her deeply. She was the kindest and most caring lady. I am so proud to have been her friend. I pray for her boys but know she will be looking over them. Juanita, I love you!
