Kathryn Lynell LaRue was born in Waco, Texas – September 17, 1932, and passed away on September 15, 2022.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 19, 2022, at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Bill Ivins officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

She married Darrell LaRue in Honolulu, HI on July 3, 1952. They raised their two sons in Amarillo and Albuquerque, New Mexico. The majority of Lynell’s career was as the Marketing Director for Northwest Texas Hospital where she designed and implemented the Children’s Miracle Network which raised over $1 million dollars over a 7-year period and was responsible for the building of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.  Lynell was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents CP and Molly Ridge, husband Darrell of 68 years, and son Steven.

Survivors include her son David LaRue and wife Carolyn, of Amarillo, TX; brother David Ridge of Tucson, Arizona, grandchildren, Shane LaRue, of Amarillo, TX, Jason LaRue and wife Bethanie of Keys, OK, Logan Bartlett and husband Wes of Claude, TX, Chantal LaRue, of Austin, TX, and Jean LaRue of Maui, HI; and ten great-grandchildren.

  1. Sleep well my friend. Loved working with you over the years and meeting your parents after we moved to Austin. Have kept you in my and Louies thoughts over the many years. Just lost contact over the years.
