Kenneth Jearl Edwards, 89, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 22, 2023.

Services will be at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, February 25, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Kenneth was born in Turkey, Texas on July 22, 1933, to Robert and Alice Edwards. He served in the United States Army. He married Jackie Sarah Scott.

Kenneth loved pranks and was a practical joker. He enjoyed visiting with people, he always had something to say. He was definitely a people person; he never met a stranger. Kenneth was a college football and Dallas Cowboys fan. His family has many memories of sharing a meal with him at Braum’s, most of those memories included a vanilla milk shake or a burger. He always had odd pets like his chicken, Miss Red, and his duck, Miss Brown. Kenneth collected knives and enjoyed watching Western movies, especially those with John Wayne. He loved attending the Bob Wills Festival in Turkey, Texas.

He was preceded in death by wife, Jackie Edwards; son, Danny Edwards; and siblings, Bruce, Jerry, and Christene.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna Lillback and husband Lon; grandchildren, Wendy Dallman and husband Alan, Jason McGlaun and wife Elena, Zack Beagles and wife Kayla, Lonnie Lillback, Amy Lillback, Sean Edwards, and Chrystal Baron; great-grandchildren, Josh, Jason, Dominic, Brooke, Katalina, William, Gabriela, Mathew, Danny, Zack Jr., Jace, Kayla, Nicholas, Layla, and Lilly; siblings, Anita, Bobby, Kay, Rita, and Nelta; and many nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be available from 10:00 A.M. – 8:00 P.M., Friday, February 24, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

  2. Prayers for all Jearls family, Me and Jearl went to school in Turkey Tx together for 11 years., We both married Beautiful Quitaque Ladies, about the same time, Jearl was a straight shooter! If he told you he was going to do something he, did it, he will be missed.
