Kyle Anthony Merryman

Kyle Anthony Merryman was born July 4, 2003, in Amarillo to Anthony “Tony” and Sandie Merryman. Kyle earned his wings on November 26, 2022, at 19.

A funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, December 2, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be at Llano cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6 P.M.-7 P.M., Thursday, December 1, 2022. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Kyle started school at 3 years old at Southlawn Elementary with Vicki Vogt as his teacher. The program was moved to Belmar Elementary a few years later. Ms. Vogt was instrumental in teaching Kyle how to communicate with his eyes, blinking once for no and twice for yes. This skill was used the rest of his life. Eventually, Kyle moved to Greenway’s Intermediate school where he was blessed to be in Mrs. Vines’ class. Kyle absolutely loved school with these teachers and the amazing paraprofessionals. Kyle loved his nurses over the years at school. Kyle did school a little different than most he completed the 5th grade and 6th grade both twice. Kyle started the 7th grade at Westover Park Jr High, but did not continue on from there due to health reasons and lack of interest. After leaving school he was not sick again.

Kyle loved to go camping growing up. He loved to be pulled in his bike trailer and go on trails in his off-road ride. Kyle was not limited by his condition and after a little time with him, you quickly learned that.

Kyle was an adventurer, a thrill seeker, and a Southwest Airlines frequent flyer. Kyle beyond loved all things Disney including Disney World. His favorite rides being the Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and of course the Tea Cups-the faster the better.

Most people looked at Kyle and saw him as fragile, but he was all boy, the rougher something was the more he liked it! Kyle was an honorary Disney bus driver.

When you see the stars tonight wish upon a star for Kyle because when you wish upon a star it makes no difference who you are anything your heart desires can come to be…

Kyle is preceded in death by his mom Sandie Merryman and 3 grandparents

Kyle leaves behind his dad and second mom, Anthony and Heidi Merryman of the home; a brother Brandon Merryman of Amarillo; a sister Shaci Chapman and wife Sara of Amarillo; a brother Bailey Chapman of wherever the Army has him; a sister Courtney Grimes and husband Devin,  and niece Austyn all of Amarillo.
