Larry Wayne Eisenman

Larry Wayne Eisenman, 74, died Thursday, October 6, 2022, in Vega, TX.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 10, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Vega with Brian Hevrin officiating.  Private burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Vega.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors in Amarillo.

Larry was born on May 10, 1948, in Minco, OK to JD and Viola Eisenman.  Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1972.  He served in the Vietnam War and ended his military career as a Staff Sergeant.  Although he no longer served in the military, Larry loved his country and was always proud to show others that love and respect that he had.  Larry worked for Baker and Taylor Drilling in Perryton and moved to Vega where he worked for the City of Vega until his retirement.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vega where he served as a deacon.  Larry loved his church family and enjoyed spending time with all of “his family”.  He was known for his big heart and his very contagious laugh.

Larry married Norma Hubbard on July 23, 1966, in Perryton, TX.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage that was an example to many.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Norma; a son, Ernest D Eisenman; and both parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Vietta Newton and husband Jay, of Vega; a son, Larry Wayne Eisenman, Jr. and wife Brook, of Vega; two sisters, Betty Crane and husband Larry, of Telephone, and Loretta Armstrong, of Middletown, OH; two brothers, Johnny Eisenman, of Corsicana, and Kenny Eisenman, of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Ernest Newton and wife Ashley, Heather Smith and husband Tucson, Larry Eisenman III and wife Maddy and Kolby Eisenman and wife Mayra; and two great-granddaughters, Maizey Eisenman and Hartley Smith.

The family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Vega, Box 414, Vega, TX 79092.

Open viewing will be Saturday from noon to 5 pm at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. in Amarillo.  Viewing will be at First Baptist Church in Vega on Sunday from 2-6 pm with family visitation from 4-6 pm.
