Lesa Sue Merrill age 61 of Spearman, Texas passed away on June 29, 2023.

Lesa was born on November 4, 1961 to Wayne and Evelyn Merrill in Dalhart, Texas.

Lesa loved to sing from a very young age she sang many songs in different churches and she also sang in a band when she was in her twenties. Lesa got her GED later in life and went on to get her RN license. Lesa loved being a nurse. Her favorite thing to do was traveling nursing. She loved being able to travel and see new things. One of her favorite things to do on her days off was take scenic drives in her newest sports car. Lesa lived in Alaska for 2 years before her declining health brought her back to Texas in 2019, but her heart never left the beauty of Alaska. Lesa went into Hanford Manor at the beginning of 2020. She made many friends there and she loved them dearly and was very loved in return. While at Hansford Manor, Lesa learn to sew and quilt. She made many pillows and quilts over the last several years. She loved giving them away to people and was very proud of what she had learned to do.

Lesa was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Joe and Inez Turner and Maurice and Thelma Merrill and her Aunt Betty Gibbens who she held dear to her.

She is survived by her children Sharie Payne of Booker, Tx and 4 grandchildren, Danny Jr. And William Thayer of Guam, Stephanie and A.J. Goddard of Canyon, TX and 5 grandchildren. Her parents Wayne Merrill of Wasilla, AK and Evelyn Merrill of Dalhart, TX. Her siblings Lori and Nick Enlow of Wasilla, AK, Lani and Wade Rippie of Wasilla, AK, and David and Felicia Merrill of Tucumcari, NM.  Several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Hansford Manor in Spearman, Texas on Thursday July 6th at 10:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers please have them sent to Hansford Manor, 707 S. Roland Street, Spearman Texas 79081.
