Linda Dolores Wheeler, 65, of Vega, TX died Wednesday, April 22, 2020.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2020, at Memorial Park Cemetery at Vega, TX with pastor Ron Muller officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Linda was born January 1, 1955, in Hereford, TX to Jerry and Dodie Morris.  She attended Hereford High School.  Linda married David Wheeler on June 4, 1971, in Dimmitt, TX.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vega.  Linda worked at Mervyn’s, Old English Field House, Hickory Inn, Dairy Queen, and Anthony’s.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Morris.

Survivors include her husband, David Wheeler, of the home; two daughters, Shelley Bishop, of Odessa, TX, and Amy Wheeler, of Amarillo, TX; a sister, Cathy Dougherty and husband Glen, of Happy, TX; five grandchildren, Hayden Scott, Wesley Bishop, Triston Cook, Tatum Hernandez, and Autumn Hernandez; and six great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Hudson, Ryker, Jerold, Lanor, and Elijah.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Life Gift; or Milburn/Price Museum in Vega.

  2. David I’m so sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. Geary and I loved Linda. Linda messaged me many times after Geary passed just to see how I was. You’ll never know how much that meant to me. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Love you David and pray God wrap His arms around you and comfort you during this time.

  6. For my brother David, there aren’t enough words to say how sorry I am that you no longer have your soul mate here on earth, but she will be with you forever in your heart and will meet you again some day with outstretched arms. Linda will be missed.
