Lora Frances Andrews Zetzsche
Lora Frances Andrews Zetzsche was born to Owen and Georgia Andrews on May 2, 1938, in Hereford, Texas. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2022. Memorial services will be held on October 29th at 11:00 at Crossroads Country Church 14425 S FM 1541, Amarillo, TX.
Frances was very involved in Frio community and church activities while growing up. She graduated from Hereford High School in May of 1956. She married George Zetzsche on Sept. 12, 1956. She was an active member of her church and played the piano for Frio Baptist Church, Westway Baptist Church,
and Temple Baptist Church.
Frances and George had 4 children, Ann, Cay, Jim, and Joe Don. Frances spent her time taking care of the family, finances, and driving the ensilage cutter on the farm. She began working in the public after her children left home. She worked at Judy’s Hallmark, the Hereford Clinic, Service Company, and Atmos Energy. She began working at Atmos Energy in Hereford and moved to the new Service Center in Amarillo when they opened. She moved to Amarillo at that time. She retired from Atmos Energy and had many activities that filled her time. She was a member of 2 Bunco groups, 2 birthday groups, and her church group. She traveled with these friends until Covid struck.
Frances had many exceptional skills. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She made wedding cakes and other occasion cakes for the public. She began this before her wedding and made her own wedding cake. Her children always had excellent cakes for their birthdays.
Her family’s favorites were her chicken fried steak and desserts. She always made candy for the Mailman, her hair stylist, and other family members each Christmas.
She is survived by her youngest brother, Joe Ed Andrews, her children, Ann Ives and husband Russell, Cay Taylor, Jim Zetzsche, and his wife Rachael, and Joe Don Zetzsche. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Logan Taylor, his wife Marisela, and their children Cheyenne and Gabriel, Austin Taylor, Branson Taylor, and Alyssa Taylor, and her fiancé Tim. Kyle Zetzsche, Steven Zetzsche, Ashley Zetzsche, and her children Riley and Leon, RaeAnn Alexander, her husband Jasper Havens and her daughter Hazel, and Tristan Alexander.
