Lori Pletcher went to her heavenly home peacefully and unexpectedly January 17, 2020. She was born October 15, 1963 in Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Doyle and Kathy Cates. She married her lifelong best friend, Dallis, in July 1983, and four years later their lives were blessed with the birth of their daughter, Alex Beth.

Lori graduated from Booker High School in 1982. She graduated from Panhandle State University in May 1987 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Lori loved her Lord, her family, and her life to the fullest. She shared her love of the Lord daily through her words and actions. Her daily devotions on Facebook will be missed by many. The meaning of family extended beyond blood for Lori; her love of family reached a whole new level with the birth of her “grandbean” Jackson. That was the day she became ‘Honey’. Being a mom and a Honey were two of her most favorite things. Her love of life – as God intended – could be seen through her many adventures and travels with Dallis, and she always had a smile on her face.

For the past thirteen years, Lori has had the opportunity to bless, touch and influence the lives of many young men and women at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. Her love of those young people went far beyond the ‘job’ at the ranch.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother Kathy Cates, father- & mother-in-law BR & Janice Pletcher, paternal grandparents Denzil & Juanita Cates, maternal grandparents Olen & Mabel DeArmond, uncle Odell Cates, and sister-in-law Bailey Cates.

Lori is survived by her husband Dallis, her daughter Alex Beth, grandbean Jackson Cates, father Doyle Cates and his wife Karen, brother Cole Cates and his wife Amy, sister Beth Riddle, aunt Sue Park, aunt Glenda Poletto, and many precious nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Lori’s life will be held January 25, 2020 at 1pm, at Messiah’s House in Amarillo.

In lieu of flowers, in Lori’s memory, donations can be made to Messiah’s House (write Lori Pletcher in the memo line).
