Faye Carter, 88, of Amarillo, TX passed away on August 6, 2023.
Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 14, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Dr. G. A. Roach officiating. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Faye was born in Earth, Texas on August 22, 1934, to Bertha Leard and Samuel Chancler. She had a lot of friends and was part of a nickel rummy group that played card games. She loved spending time with her son and granddaughters as well as her siblings. Faye attended Washington Avenue Christian Church for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Carter; siblings, Emma Counts, Helen Slaght, Maxine Hook, Jim Chancler, Ray Chancler, Buddy Chancler, Calvin Chancler, and Willard Chancler.
Survivors include son, Sam Carter; granddaughters, Lindsay McLain and husband Buck, Sarah Dix and husband Robert; sister, Kathy Renfroe, and husband Darrell; nephew, Ronnie Battenfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be available from Noon-5:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023, and Noon-5:00 P.M.,
Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2300 Paramount Blvd.
