Lynda Pauline Schaef, 72, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on November 1, 2023.

Lynda was born in Spokane, Washington on March 19, 1951, to Mona and Robert Terrell.

Lynda spent most of her life in Amarillo. She was dedicated to her career as an Activity Director for many nursing homes in the Amarillo area. She took pride in the high quality of care she provided for her residents. She brought a lot of happiness to all the residents and their families during their time with her.

Lynda was mostly known for her passion for the color red, which matched her fiery personality and beautiful hair. Her favorite days were spent taking care of her 2 cats, loving on her dog, Peanut, and a trip to a good local coffee shop. She had a true passion for helping others and getting to know people through good conversation. Lynda had a contagious laugh and made the best of all the obstacles she faced throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by husband Jackie Schaef and her parents.

She is survived by her daughter, Shawna Simmons and husband Jon; her son Thomas Sanders; her three brothers Bob Stavenhagen and wife Deb, Steve Stavenhagen and wife Teri, and Rick Stavenhagen and wife Camilla; Five grandchildren Alexis, Brittany, Evan, Caitlyn, and Thomas; and one great grandchild Waylen.

A private Celebration of Life will be held December 23, 2023.

  1. My condolences to all the family. She certainly looked to be very sweet and was a beautiful lady. May God give you all peace.

    1. I was a neighbor to Lynda and Jackie for 10 years. She was always sweet, generous and understanding. I’m sad to see her leave, but happy she’s back with Jackie. May they rest in peace.

  2. We were sisters but didnt grow up together. She was a beautiful person and know she will be missed greatly. My love and prayers to the family. God bless!
