Manuela “Nellie” Jimenez, 71, of Amarillo, TX died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2021.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel.  Burial will be at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Nellie was born June 17, 1950, in Amarillo, TX to Frank and Clorinda Jimenez.  She had worked for Morehead, BSA Hospital, and Hastings.  She was most recently working for Dollar Tree.  Nellie donated many items to the homeless.  She loved to read the Bible and spend time with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brothers, Jimmy Jimenez and Frankie Jimenez; and sisters, Estella Sierra and Maryellen Tinajero.

She is survived by her children, Dominic Jimenez Chavez and wife Rosario Nanes of Arlington, TX, and George Jimenez, of Amarillo, TX; a brother, Johnny Jimenez and wife Ruth, of Amarillo, TX; five sisters, Rosa Alvarez, of Austin, TX, Salina Martinez, Frances Salas and husband Fino, Becky Chavez and husband Johnny Romero, and Beatrice Jimenez and husband Larry Bitela, all of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Layla Jimenez, Israel Chavez, Exavior Morales, Santos Chavez, Naomi Chavez, Soriah Chavez, Dominic Chavez Jr., Samara Chavez, and Izayiah Chavez; and great-grandchildren, Luka Morales and Cristobal Guzman III.

Family visitation will be at 6-7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, 2021, at the funeral home.

  1. Sorry to hear of her passing and God be with her family , I was a friend of her sister Rosa and Salina when we lived on the same street,I would love to hear from them Yolanda Gonzales Sevier. Amarillo Tx.

  2. Nellie had a heart of gold and loved her family so much. I had the joys of working with her for many years and this lady was priceless! She would give anything to anyone who needed help! So loving and genuine.

  3. To the family my deepest condolences. I know its hard to believe she’s gone but she’s in a much better place at peace and no longer suffering. I pray that all of you find peace knowing she loves you and is smiling down from heaven! Nellie has her wings now! ❤
