Marilyn Gerbrandt

Marilyn Gerbrandt passed away on June 2, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Corn Mennonite Church, 100 W. Main St., Corn, OK with lunch to follow. An additional memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Evangelical Fellowship, 5000 SW 49th Ave, Amarillo, TX. All are invited to attend.

Marilyn Gossen was one of a pair of identical twins born on July 21, 1941 to John and Pauline Gossen. She grew up in Corn, Oklahoma and attended and graduated from Corn Bible Academy, which is also where she met the love of her life and her life’s partner, Dave Gerbrandt. She spent one year at Tabor College and married Dave on June 20, 1961.  During their 58 years of marriage,

she kept the home fires burning and worked in a variety of jobs including as a cook and baker.  She loved the Lord with all of her heart and grew up in the Mennonite Brethren Church.  Upon moving to Amarillo she became a member of the Evangelical Fellowship in Amarillo. Marilyn and Dave had 4 children, Terri, Ron, Roxanne, and Todd. They moved often during their married life and lived in multiple cities in Oklahoma, Texas, and California.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, Joan and Carolyn, and a stillborn son.

She is survived by two daughters, Terri Neufeld and husband, Jonathan of Goshen, Indiana, Roxanne Cates and husband Dennis of Amarillo, Texas, two sons, Ron and Laurel Gerbrandt of McCordsville, Indiana, Todd and Amy Gerbrandt of Kansas, two sisters, Jeanette Grunau of Corn, Oklahoma and Margaret Smith of Wills, Texas. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
