
Martin Edward Calhoun, 72, of Amarillo, TX passed away on October 27, 2023.
Memorial services will be at 5:00 PM, Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Martin was born June 5, 1951, in Borger, TX to James Allen and Mary Cloel Calhoun. He graduated from Borger High School in 1969 and attended Frank Phillp’s College for 1 year. He completed his education at Draughon’s Business College in Amarillo and attended several continuing education seminars. Martin married Jan Kay Janeway on July 9, 1971, in Borger, TX. While going to school in Amarillo, he worked at Foodway Grocery getting his experience also while he worked in high school at Jim’s Grocery in Borger.
Martin worked for AIG for 44 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Cloel Calhoun of Borger TX; parents-in-law, Orren and Mary Janeway of Borger, TX; one brother-in-law, Allen Brain of Amarillo TX; 3 sisters-in-law, Kay Calhoun of Stinnett TX, Gayle Janeway Roberson of Ft. Worth TX, and Linda Janeway of Borger, TX.
Martin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jan Janeway Calhoun of Amarillo, TX; 2 daughters, Angela Moya and husband Shannon of Canyon TX and Lisa Hutchison and husband Jarrod of Dalhart, TX; 1 granddaughter, Kristin Calhoun of Amarillo TX; 2 grandsons, Austin Moya of Dallas, TX and Kaden Moya of Amarillo, Â TX; 1 brother, Phillip Calhoun of Stinnett, TX; and in-laws, Mary Janeway Brain of Amarillo TX, Joe Janeway of Borger, TX, Bill and Debbie Janeway of Paris, TX and John and Judy Janeway of Fairview, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
