Mary Blanch Houseman

Mary Blanch Houseman, 90, of Amarillo, TX died August 18, 2022.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 22, 2022, at Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a member.  Graveside services are private.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mary was born October 10, 1931, in Goodlett, TX to Vernon and Margaret Scott.

Mary’s great passion in life was her gift of song.  Her beautiful voice was heard and admired by many.  Mary’s daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, as she was the center of theirs.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ken Ahler and Lewis Houseman.  Mary also was preceded in death by her brother, Winford Scott; and sister, Peggy Anderson.

Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Rogers and husband Jody, of Amarillo, TX; a brother, Vernon Scott Jr. and wife Ometa, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Stephanie Jones, Sommer Sims, Shelbie Simmons, and Chelsie Browning and husband Bruce, all of Amarillo, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Laeyton, Blakeley, Brielle, and Brier.

  4. Mary had such a beautiful sole with lots of love for her family. It was such an honor to have her in my life. Thank you for allowing me to take care of her for almost 7 years. She was truly a blessing to everyone. Continued prayers for you all.
