Mary Kay Lackey, 74, of Amarillo, TX passed away on June 4, 2022.

 
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
 
Kay was born in Amarillo, TX on April 1, 1948, to Juanita and LD Jones. She was a graduate of Tascosa High School and St. Anthony School of Nursing in Amarillo, TX. She was a nurse for over 45 years and since the 1980’s she was a nationally certified diabetic educator.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lackey; her parents, LD and Juanita Jones; and nephews, Larry Jordan and John Jordan.
 
Survivors include her sons, Christopher Sims, of Amarillo, TX, and Monty Lackey and wife Sheryl, of Cumby, TX; four grandchildren, Destiny “Tiny” Lackey, of Cumby, TX, DJ Lackey and wife Ryann, of Sulphur Springs, TX, Christopher Lackey and wife Erica, of Lafayette, IN, and Shelbie Lackey and husband Jake, of Birmingham, AL; three great-grandchildren, Walker Lackey, Beckett Lackey, and Cordelia Lackey; sister, Joy Jordan, of Galveston, TX; brother, Bryan Jones, of Santa Rosa, CA; and two nieces, Lee Ann Baird and husband Richard, of Angleton, TX and Frances Funkhouser and husband Robert of Sand Springs, OK.

  1. When I got to know Kay – she was very helpful to me- at the time she was the educator of the diabetes classes @ NWTH – she found out I was a diabetic
    She got me 2 tickets to go to sessions to learn about diabetes- it was very helpful to me and my friend- she was a very sweet lady – loved the Lord and will be greatly missed- to the family – sorry for your loss- God Bless
