Mary “Marcie” Oestermyer, 83, of Amarillo, TX died Friday, June 23, 2023.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 6, 2023 at Highland Baptist Church, 4316 34th St., Lubbock, Texas. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Marcie was born August 22, 1939 to Leonard Lawrence Trichel and Buela Edna (Singleterry) Trichel.
She married Gene Oestermyer on June 16, 1956. They were married for 65 years before he preceded her in death.
Marcie was a good friend to many throughout her life and a long-standing member of Highland Baptist Church in Lubbock where she had many, many close friends. She was always a supporter, encourager, and faithful to her husband, her children, and many friends.
Marcie is survived by two daughters, Valerie Gooch and husband Royce, and Cindy Willis and husband Mark; two grandchildren, Trichelle Webb and husband Casey, and Evan Gooch and wife Nicole; five great-grandchildren, Parker and Max Webb, and Audrey, Harper, and Gable Gooch.
I’m so so sorry to see this. Marcie was a life saver for my mom when they moved to the Moore House at Park Central. Marcie was always so helpful and sweet. I know they loved seeing each other once again in heaven. Valerie and Royce, I’m sending my love. Karla Kelly
Marcie was so fun to be around . Even if she could be a little sassy, it just made her endearing. She loved on all my babies and poured blessings into them that are still present today. She and Gene created a wonderful family, and blessed the Highland family in so many ways. My heartfelt sympathy to Valerie and Cindy.
