Mia Alexis Marie Kritis, 18, of Sioux City, IA, and formerly of Amarillo, TX passed away Friday, January 1, 2021.

On January 15, 2021, a viewing will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 16, 2021, at Family Life Church at 3900 SW 58th Ave.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.

Mia was born October 7, 2002, in Amarillo, TX, the daughter of Christos Kritis and Jessica Smith.  She grew up in Amarillo, attending Caprock High School.  Mia loved sports and excelled in soccer and basketball.  She was very active in her church, Family Life Fellowship, where she helped in the nursery and loved taking care of children.  Mia’s happy demeanor, love of life, and light could be seen by all and she loved her family and friends and will be missed and cherished by all who knew her.  She moved to Sioux City in April of 2020 to be with her father and family and made fast friends at North High School and at the Dakota Dunes Country Club, where she worked.  She was scheduled to graduate early from high school in January of this year.

Survivors include her father Christos and bonus mother, Ashley Kritis and mother Jessica Smith; paternal grandparents:  Linda Robin Hand; maternal grandparents:  Deadra and Ken Smith; sisters:  Brayli, Haylie, Kiyah, and Maddie Kritis, Jayden Dallas, and Kenadee Dockery; aunts and uncles:  Kyle Hamann, Cassie (Nathan) Black, Jared Hand, Rebecca (Richard) Reynolds, Jackie (Shawnee) Hand, Jessie (Zach) Irvin, Mat (Sarah) Hand, Justin Hand, Aaron (Autumn) Lacy, and Aric (Shandy) Brooks; Jennifer and Ken Sides and cousin Kayleigh Smith; Great Grandmother Adrienne Tedford and numerous beloved cousins, and countless friends.

Mia was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Spyridon Kritis and Aunt Kayci.
