Most of Michelle’s childhood was spent in Bedford, Texas, where she graduated high school and attended Texas Women’s University to receive her four-year bachelor’s degree of education in 2008. In 2009, Michelle turned 28 and moved to Rockwall, Texas, to officially become a teacher. She taught her first five years at a charter elementary school and her last six years at West Elementary School in Arlington, Texas. She enjoyed being a dog mom to Princess and Lucy; an aunt who was known as our Mimi; and working on Glistening Crafts that she loved making. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michelle’s honor may be made to the charity of your choice.

Our lives go on without you, but nothing will ever be the same. We have this forever heartache when someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you, silent are the tears that fall. Living without you is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us, your heart was so kind and true, and when we needed someone, we could always count on you. The special years will not return when we were all together, but with love in our hearts you walk with us forever.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles. – Psalm 34:17

  2. It’s taken me several days to be able to leave words here because no words can touch upon the loss of Michelle. She was my very close friend – we talked almost daily. We prayed together, mostly for children who were struggling, and we kept each other laughing through the challenges that come with being a modern teacher. I find things every day that I want to share with her…

I wish you all could hear the love Michelle shared for all of you. She was always telling stories about how awesome each member of her family is.

Michelle loved JB so much and often would share stories of the things he has done and how he inspired her by being a good person, one who lifted her up when things were hard. She was so proud of you! She loved her parents so much and said frequently how they were always there for her, and how she felt so blessed to have the family God gave her. She loved having discussions with her mom and dad, sharing about her work, and she always was excited for visits and time together. She greatly enjoyed the fall holidays together. She loved Lauren and Emily and really enjoyed times out together. She told me, “I love my nieces like they are my own.” She loved every member of her family and I loved hearing her share about the goodness of you all. And she was so proud of her pups. We loved to share pet pictures! Most of all, Michelle loved her school and her students, and her pride in them shone when she bragged on their accomplishments. She told me time and again that she had found the best of schools.

Though she rightfully should have, I don’t think she ever had a bad day. She was grateful for every day and filled them up to the fullest. Michelle was beautiful, smart, fun (I’m a fun aunt, she said) and creative and she worked every day to bring light into this world. I’m grateful she shone in my life. I know her light still shines brightly with the angels and we will be together again in that world God has made for us, a world without pain. Until then, I will miss you ineffably, my dear friend.

Your family will all stay in our hearts and prayers. We love you all.

  6. Mrs. McCoy was my favorite teacher at West and my memories with her will always be cherished. You were my go to teacher for everything for school and just to vent. And as one of your students I will save you a seat at my graduation. I am so grateful to be one of your students. I will miss you so much.

    1. Elliana,

Mrs. McCoy loved being your teacher. She spent so much time working to make her classroom a special place of safety and accomplishment. I know that leaving you and your classmates was the hardest part for Mrs. McCoy. But she told me often how smart you all are, how talented, and how she had so much faith in each of you. Do hold that seat at your graduation because she will be watching over you. When things get hard, remember what she taught you. And you can still talk to her. I promise she is listening.

  7. God has received a beautiful angel. We had not been in touch in some years. I always remember the time she was in my life and she was a rock when I needed one. Such a sweet person, full of love to give. Rest in peace sweet girl. Forever your friend.♥️🙏🏼

  8. Michelle was my dear friend and constant workout companion. We went to the gym together most days, and I will have a giant hole where she always was with me there.
She also supported many of my students with Dyslexia services and was a valuable part of my team (I teach 5th grade Language Arts). She helped many students with concepts that I was teaching in my classroom, mostly without me ever having to ask her to help support my lessons. She was just like that; she would just step up when she saw the need.
To say that I will miss her greatly is an understatement. I am very sorry for your loss
