Her life and role as a wife, daughter, sister, teacher, and friend ended much too soon. Although her sudden death has left us devastated and in disbelief, we choose to focus on the amazing person she was before her passing and celebrate her life.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. – 7:30 P.M., Monday, April 10, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79109.

Michelle was born in Amarillo, Texas, on June 26th, 1981, to Ivan and Janice Jones. She grew up in DFW area and attended LD Bell High School in Bedford, Texas, and graduated year of 2000. She was the fourth of four children. Michelle’s three older siblings were thrilled to have such a precious baby sister to take care of. Most of Michelle’s childhood was spent in Bedford, Texas, where she graduated high school and attended Texas Women’s University to receive her four-year bachelor’s degree of education in 2008. In 2009, Michelle turned 28 and moved to Rockwall, Texas, to officially become a teacher. She taught her first five years at a charter elementary school and her last six years at West Elementary School in Arlington, Texas. She enjoyed being a dog mom to Princess and Lucy; an aunt who was known as our Mimi; and working on Glistening Crafts that she loved making. Michelle touched so many children’s lives and had a purpose to make every child successful in the best of their abilities.

Michelle is survived by the love of her life, JB McCoy, husband of 11 years; parents, Ivan and Janice Jones; sister, Karen Jones Bayard; brothers, Eric and Shannon Jones; nieces, Lauren and Emily Bayard; nephew, Caleb Jones; sister-in-law, Christy Kaspar; and Eric Jones family.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother of her mother’s side, M. Blanche Smith; grandparents of her father’s side, Rusty and Louise Jones; and her husband’s parents, Henry and Marlene McCoy.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Michelle’s honor may be made to the charity of your choice.

Our lives go on without you, but nothing will ever be the same. We have this forever heartache when someone speaks your name. Sad are the hearts that love you, silent are the tears that fall. Living without you is the hardest part of all. You did so many things for us, your heart was so kind and true, and when we needed someone, we could always count on you. The special years will not return when we were all together, but with love in our hearts you walk with us forever.

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and rescues them from all their troubles. – Psalm 34:17
