Mike King

Mike King, of Bushland, TX completed his journey here on Earth surrounded by his family on February 16, 2023, at the age of 70.

Visitation will be at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd., from 6-8:00 p.m., Friday, February 24, 2023.  Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Washington Avenue Christian Church with Jim Shelburne officiating.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery.

Mike was born February 12, 1953, to Edna Honeycutt in Amarillo, TX.  He was the youngest of seven children.  Mike graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1972.  While attending he played football and ran track.

Mike joined the Air Force after graduating.  He was very proud of his country.  He was a man of deep faith, honesty, and integrity.

He worked at Pantex for thirty-two years in safeguards and security, retiring in 2017.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kay King; his seven precious children, Donny King, Erin Price, Kory King, Desiree Berry, Shanon Fortolis, Tammy Reed, and Kasey Wilson.  He is also survived by his sixteen grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Shannon, Arianna, Tatum, Baylor, Breckan, Kaizley, Kenley, McKena, Drew, Sofia, Keagan, Liea, Skylar, Ashton, Mykle, and Savi.  His brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, who meant the world to him, his special cousin, Joe Presley, and his dear friend and brother, Jeff Gardner.
