Mike Lynch
Mike Lynch (Michael Craig Lynch) died on July 6, 2022.
He was born in Los Angeles, California on July 25, 1944, to Creighton Brooks and Dixie Lee Shaw Lynch, both deceased. He had one beloved sister, Jana Brooks Lynch, who survives him.
Mike loved his wife Ann, of almost 55 years, more than anything on Earth. His two sons Jason and Barry were his heroes. He loved their wives, Jennifer and Judy. Mike was extremely proud of his two grandsons, Austin and Thomas Lynch. Mike is survived by three nephews, Shawn and Gannon Tucker, and Dr. Brandon Broome.
Mike was raised in Amarillo from age ten. He graduated a Tascosa High School (Rebel), attended one year of Amarillo College, and three years at the University of Texas culminating in a degree in finance. He attended Law School at the University of Houston, graduating in 1970. He practiced a broad range of law in Houston, Miami, Florida, and Amarillo for over 50 years. He retired fully in May of 2018. Some people live to work, and some people work to live. Mike loved to work to live.
Mike coached baseball for 10 years with manager Lenny Sadler. He is proud of their now successful sons and many other successful men who were players. He loved each one.
Mike was also a licensed amateur radio “ham” operator from the time he was 14 years old (for 63 years). His call letters were “W5ZO.” He had confirmed contacts with 348 countries and protectorates, and even once made contact with the space shuttle as it orbited planet Earth. His greatest operating achievement was admission on March 2, 2019, to the First-Class CW Operators Club (FOC) founded in England in 1938 for highly proficient Morse code operators, among other attributes. Out of over 3 million licensed radio amateurs worldwide, there are only 500 FOC members spanning over 50 countries. Mike was inducted as the 2127
th
member since reformation to the club in 1947 after the Second World War.
Mike loved his many friends and clients. He credits his secretary of 36 years, Mrs. Lisa Mitchell, for years of a successful practice which ended in 2018.
He was a weightlifter, handball player, a runner, and a “gym rat” his entire life. He coached his sons when they were small; he was their biggest fan as they grew older. They have each now “coached” many others to be productive and disciplined conservative men and women. Mike saw his grandsons become “champions.”
He loved music. He loved his dogs, and they loved him. He was accused occasionally of feeding them at his table. He denied that accusation profusely.

Mike was a believer in Jesus, as the Son of God, and for the meaning of that true
belief, he directs you to John 3:16-18
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.
Mike would remind us all:
Speak boldly the truth.
Never accept the premise without question.

In his 19 years fighting cancer and heart issues, he would leave you with this:
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
