Nawasa “Sid” Dell Hoover, 100, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on October 11, 2023.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M., Sunday, October 15, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hobbs, New Mexico. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Sid was born in Campbell, Texas on December 4, 1922, to Bonnie and James McDonald. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Sid was a postal carrier for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pat Hoover; and daughter, Nancy Trainer.
She is survived by her son, Jimmie Hoover and wife Maxine; son in law, Gary Trainer; grandchildren, Brian Trainer and wife Christa, Lee Dear, Tricia Dear and husband Danny Myers, Kelli Green and husband Chris, Tracy Bellegante and husband John, Mario Cordova, Beatrice Creamer and husband Ken, Juan Cordova and wife Jolina, Carlos Cordova, Gabriel Gutierrez and wife Yesina, and Julian Gutierrez and wife Sandra; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Sid is my sister-in-law, She has been a part of my life all my life. I have so many wonderful memories of times we spent together. She was a great role model, always ready for anything that came next, smart, funny, kind, capable are only some of her traits. She is now with my brother forever more. I know they are both happy to be reunited. Rest in peace you two . Love you to the moon and back! Miss you like crazy!
