  1. I will miss Oleta! I was blessed to know Oleta from House of Shades. I loved going in there and would stay and talk to her for the longest of times. She was such a lovely lady and we had a special friendship. When she retired , she told me how she had worked with, knew, and kept up with my family thru 4 generations! I was thrilled when I got invited to her 90th birthday party. When I got there, she took my hand and made sure I got to meet all of her family, whom I had heard about all these years. She was a very special lady, always with a smile on her face and a full heart. For the last few months I had been wanting to call and check on her, and I am so sad I hadn’t done it. I truly loved her!

  2. Oleta’s service was very well done, enjoyed the memories of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved all of you so very much and loved talking about all of them. Honey and Oleta shared so many long talks about all of us and the kids. They enjoyed their trips and especially the two of them going to Red River, mother crocheting and your mother fishing. Their nightly calls were a must of the day unless the Rangers were playing and the game went too long; Honey might fall asleep. They were Special Friends. Oleta was a special lady and showed us how a Christian should live her life. Our families have a lot of long time memories back to when our families went camping together when we were kids and playing baseball years. Ruth, you and Gene did a wonderful job today. Sorry that we were not able to attend.

  3. So sorry to hear about your loss of Oleta. What a fine Christian lady. Prayers and blessings to your family at this time.

  4. I was acquainted with Oleta through my sister, Luray Earle. Oleta was a lovely lady. I loved her generous, quiet nature. She was such a good friend to my sister. She is missed but we are thankful for her example of faith. We take comfort in knowing she was ready to meet our Heavenly Father. I pray that you will feel His loving arms around you and find His peace and comfort.

  5. Oleta was a sweet, quiet lady and Christian. She always came by the pew I was sitting in and hugged my shoulder and always spoke to Ron. We will miss her so much.

  6. Gene and Ruth:
We wanted to let you know we are very sorry for the loss of your Mother. Oleta and your family have been a special part of our family since before we were in junior high and that is a is a long time ago. I will always remember going to church on one of the trips to the mountains our families went on and you Mother introducing herself. The lady misunderstood your Mother and thought she said “Ole Lady” Mayfield instead of Oleta. We had a lot of good times and I can see now Oleta and Walter along with my Mother and Dad playing 42 together again. Best wishes and our payers and thoughts are with you always.
