Patricia Ann Santry Ford, 82, of Amarillo, passed away March 20, 2020.  Private family graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Pat was born in Fall River, MA on July 24, 1937 to Mary and Timothy Santry.  She graduated from Barnstable High School in Hyannis, Ma, in 1955.  During high school and until 1959, she worked for New England Tel and Tel as a local/long distance telephone operator.  Pat married her high school sweetheart, Donald Ford, in March 1959, and they promptly moved to Amarillo, Tx, where she worked for Southwestern Bell, as a long-distance operator, from 1959-1968.

In 1967, Pat and Donald were blessed with the birth of their son, Darin.

She went to for Dr. Jeff R. Moore, MD, as a surgical technician in 1981.  She worked for him until Dr. Moore retired in 1998.  She then worked for Dr. William Watson, DPM, as a podiatrist assistant, until she retired in 1999.

Pat loved to go fishing with her husband Don and their son Darin.  She liked to go camping and took up stream trout fish in Cimarron, NM.  She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary &Timothy Santry, her brother, Joseph Santry, and her sister, Eileen Santry.

She is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, Darin (Shelia) Ford; and her grandson, Zachary Hodges.

I’m not sure but My dear Mother Dorothy Wood Vollmer from old Stone Church road Little Compton RI played Bingo with Patrica an she was a very good Friend to an of My Mother Dot,Dotty she Patricia worked at the Vegetable Stand back from the road in Tiverton West Main Road next to Smiths Garage. She lost a friend when pat left for Texas an she I believe told me she had worked for them Two dr’s an she was a long distance Telephone Operator pat was Friday talkative an energetic. Mother as Dorothy Wood Lived an went to schools in Fall River Mass so that to maybe is why they got along so well. Mom was born in Fall River at Truesdale Hospital 1/6/31 she died recently to almost 91 age but died 11/23/24/2021 she lived on a few streets in Fall River Mass with Father Joseph Wood an Sadie Ellen Folger Woods an had older Sister Edith wood Oliver from Georgia an Florida. I to was born in Fall River mass at Truesdale Hospital born 2/11/55 Dale Allen Vollmer an a sister Nancy an brother Glenn from Mother she was married almost 68 years from 4/16/54-11/23/24/2021 She was a wonderful Good kind Of Mother To me she was a Dear Honey an I was her oldest close friend to me an I was her friend never far away at our home in Tiverton an Little Compton an we lived in a trailer at 1970 Crandall Road an her parents House close next door at 1972. She had her Fall River phone number on paper a 672 in Fall River I don’t Know where Mom probably didn’t! I just thought I would leave a message an Sorry to find that My Mothers FriendPassed Donald an she knew she had a son an Husband Donald I’m pretty sure this is the Pat my mother was her friend she Liked to have around! She seemed to me she was missed before an after she left only 6 years age difference. Good by Donald from Dale Allen Vollmer?

  2. Was so sad to learn of Pat’s death. Enjoyed conversations with Pat & her husband Don on their morning walks with their Cocker spaniel .Thoughts & prayers go to you Don.

  3. Pat lived next door to my mother for many years and was always so good to her. It’s hard to believe she is gone. My sympathy and prayers go out to Don and Darin.

  8. My sincere and heartfelt love and sympathies to the family of Pat. She was a wonderful woman and I loved running into her now and again out shopping. We never had any trouble with conversation. Pat will be missed by so many.
