Patricia Corley Reynolds Boatwright, 87, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on March 5th, 2023.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 13th, 2023, at St. Stephen United Methodist Church, 4600 S. Western.  Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm on Friday, March 10th, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Patricia Corley Reynolds Boatwright was born March 17, 1935, in Roswell, NM to James Truly Reynolds and Catherine Corley Reynolds.  She graduated from Roswell High School in 1953 and attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.  She married Frederick V. Boatwright in Roswell in 1954.  After he graduated from Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State, in 1957, they moved to Amarillo.

Patricia was a charter member of the Kingswood United Methodist Church where she served on numerous boards and committees.  She was a past president of Kingswood United Methodist Women and had played in the handbell choir.  She was active in the Aldersgate Sunday School Class.  She joined the St. Stephen United Methodist Church after the closure of Kingswood.

Patricia was a member of Canyon Country Club, active in the Women’s Auxiliary, and still played golf in 2022.

Mrs. Boatwright was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority since 1963, and served as a City Council corresponding secretary and as treasurer, as well as President and other offices of various Beta Sigma Phi chapters.  She was selected as City-Wide Preceptor Sweetheart in 1974, and was a member of Texas Gamma XI Master.

Patricia was a member of the Professional Engineers’ Auxiliary and served as president of that organization on numerous occasions.

Mrs. Boatwright was a Cub Scout Den Mother, Girl Scout Member, and a board member of Boy Scout Troop 81.

She was a self-employed support member of Coldwell Banker First Equity until the Covid workplace structures changed.

Patricia was preceded in death by Fred, her husband of 54 years, and her younger brother Bill Reynolds of Hermiston, OR.  Survivors include her brother’s wife Thelma, son James Boatwright and wife Joyce of Dallas, and daughter Kathie Sanderson and husband John of Amarillo.  Grandchildren are Caleb and wife Alicia Sanderson, Tyson Sanderson, Kristin Sanderson, Scott Sanderson and wife Kamie, all of Amarillo, and Regan and husband Antonio Walker of San Antonio.  Great-grandchildren are Anika, Aaron, Colton, Caitlyn, and Audree Sanderson, Maddie Castillo, and Carson, Connor and Kennedy Walker.

  1. I met Pat through golf. I saw her chip in, 40ft or more for a bird! It was exciting! I don’t think I’ve jumped that high since.
    I am so glad I was allowed to meet her. She was very kind to me and an inspiration.

  3. Condolences to the family. Pat was an amazingly beautiful lady-inside & out. Her smile was contagious & she was gracious & kind. She will truly be missed by all who knew & loved her. Prayers for peace for her family.
