Patricia “Patti” Lavon Kendall Craig

Patricia “Patti” LaVon Kendall Craig ascended to her heavenly reward on February 5, 2023, where she was undoubtedly and joyously reunited with her mother, Vivian Clark.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Patti was born to Glenn and Vivian Kendall on July 12, 1961, in Wichita, Kansas.  Patti moved to Amarillo in 1980 with her mother and loving stepfather, Red Clark.  On St. Patty’s Day 2011, she married her best friend and love of her life, Jim Craig on the beach in Tampa, Florida.

Patti’s daughter, Brittany Alston, was born in 1988.  Raising Brittany was the highlight of Patti’s life.  She loved her daughter immensely and was very proud of all Brittany has accomplished.  Patti’s grandchildren, Braelee, Kynlee, and Dallas were very precious to Patti, as well as her step-granddaughter, Mia.  She loved spending time with them and watching them grow.

In 1999, Patti began working for Canyon ISD spending most of her career at Lakeview Elementary where she was a teaching assistant for physical education, computer literacy, and Head Start.  She was proud to be a Lakeview Lion and thoroughly enjoyed her retirement since May of 2022.

In her free time, Patti loved being outdoors.  Whether she was on a beach in Florida, with her in-laws, Phil and Charlotte Brooks; at the lake with her friends; or just hanging out and listening to music in her backyard oasis, which she nicknamed “the Love Shack;” her most joyous times were spent in the sun.  When Patti could not be outside she could be found cheering for her favorite teams, the Kansas State Wildcats and the Dallas Cowboys or binging Lifetime movies. She was never one to pass up a trip to play the slots at the casino.

Patti was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Kendall, and her parents, Red and Vivian Clark.

Patti will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Jim Craig; daughter, Brittany Alston, and bonus son, Chad Craig.  Patti is survived by her sister, Suzy Kendall-Shoemaker. Her family  Scott Clark and wife Chris, Paul Clark, Steven Clark and wife Sonja; and Shelley Behrhorst and husband Fritz who will cherish the memories that they share of and with Patti.  Patti was also very close to her “Kansas cousins,” Joel Weidner and wife Dana, Randy Weidner, and JoAnne Busch, and husband Art.

Her extensive network of friends mourn her loss, but are thankful for the love and laughter that she brought to each of them.
