Ralph Kenneth Fletcher, 68, of Amarillo, TX passed away on November 1, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 5, 2022, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Kim Barlow officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Ralph was born in Amarillo, TX on August 6, 1954, to Bonnie Fletcher. He married Melinda Simpson in Amarillo, TX on June 2, 2007.

Ralph was involved in all aspects of law enforcement for over 40 years. He was a member of the Southwest Optimist Club.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Fletcher, and brother, John Fletcher.

Survivors include his wife, Melinda Fletcher, of the home; daughters, Anne-Marie Sneed and husband Scott, of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Jazmine Fletcher, Olivia Sneed, and Maxx Sneed.

  3. When i first started working at the Ambulance service in 1977 he sometimes would be my partner on the weekend. I remember when he was a motorcycle cop he would come in the ambulance station and thaw his feet out on cold days .He was Always a great guy, well respected and fun to be with.

    I are so sorry for your loss. Ralph was a good man and always brought happiness with him. I enjoyed my long friendship with Ralph. He is no longer hurting and is at rest now. I know he is in a better place.

  5. Prayer and hugs to Ralphs beautiful family! I know his girls are so heartbroken. Ralph had the nerve to pull me over and hand me my first ticket at 1-40 and Bell, we laughed about it for years. Ill miss his smile. Hug to entire family, What an incredible career he had.

  6. I used to have coffee with Ralph at the PD, and always he was upbeat and just a great guy to know. Amarillo has lost a great man.

  10. Ralph is a good friend and brother, I say is because I am sure he is in Heaven waiting for all of us that were lucky enough to have met him.   11. Ralph was my assigned investigator when I was a Potter County Assistant District Attorney. I enjoyed working with him until I left the DA Office. For the next 25 years I’d see him at the courthouse while I worked my cases. I’m gonna miss you.

    My cuz . You enspired me to go into law enforcement I had a great 20 yr career as a usaf law enforcement/security police thanks to you. I remember the times growing up when you were a motorcycle policeman. Man I’m lost for word I luv you n will miss you .

  15. One of the good guys! He always had a smile and a kind word or funny story. I can still hear him hollering “Cadillac Jack”! Now Shotgun has another friend close at hand. Ralph touched many lives in a positive way and I am proud to have known him. Peace be with you in your time of mourning.

    I know you had more than your share of health problems. It was a pleasure to know you over the years. I will remember you as always having a funny storey , or a joke. You were always very upbeat.

  17. It was an honor and blessing that I worked with Ralph at APD. I will never forget seeing how majestic and dignified he looked riding his motorcycle in the Fair parade. He always had a kind word and was such a pleasure to be around. Sending condolences to the family. God bless you all.

    I met him many years ago when I volunteered for Ama. Emergency Service and the City of Ama. Had a great respect for him.

  28. Saddened to hear of Ralph’s passing! He was one of the good guys! Always enjoyed working with him. He had a great sense of humor and was a true public servant!   29. Ralph wrote me my first ticket when I was 16 yrs old. I use to kid him about it when we worked together at APD. He was a good officer but more of a great guy. God bless!

  30. First met Ralph when he worked security at softball tournaments. We found out our birthdays along with my daughters were the 5th,6th, & 7th of August so he told her we could have 3 cakes together. Later I worked with him at the courthouse on trials. Ralph always had a smile and good story on hand at anytime. He will be missed.

  32. Hadn’t seen Ralph in years, but we connected on Facebook for the past few years and it was good to have that contact back. Ralph is one of those people in your life that carves out a special place in your heart and has never left, though maybe out of our mainstream life and separated by time and space. Remember quite a few ambulance calls with Ralph driving the Modulance and his foot could get quite heavy at times! Meals together at the NuCastle, fun and fellowship and shenanigans in the crew quarters. One of the most honorable and kind men I have ever met, and so proud of his Law Enforcement career. Ralph was a special man and will surely be missed. My prayers of comfort go out to his family , friends, and colleagues, Love you, brother.

  37. Prayers going up for all of Ralph’s family. I first met Ralph when he worked for Metropolitan Ambulance Service. When I was working at APD in mid 1970’s, I had the pleasure of working with Ralph and getting to know him even better. He was one of the best guys around. It was a pleasure knowing Ralph and running into him at the store once in a while.

    I had the pleasure of working with Ralph for numerous years at the Police Department and specifically on the Motorcycle Squad! Ralph was a very good man who was well-thought of and respected throughout the community. He was always known as a dedicated family man.
