Ralph Wesley Smith, 86, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with His Lord February 24, 2024.

Graveside services will be held in Weaver Cemetery in Weaver, Texas on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. Bro. Raif Turner and Bro. Tom Friday will officiate. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Amarillo, Texas.

Ralph was born November 14, 1937, in Hopkins County, Texas to Linzie and Carrie Smith. He graduated from Saltillo High School in Saltillo, Texas in 1956 and married Patsy Brewer on May 13, 1956. Ralph and Patsy moved to Lubbock, Texas that same year. Ralph spent 47 years in the stone and tile industry in the Lubbock area. He was owner of Wisdom Marble & Tile for 28 years, retiring in 2003. He was well known throughout the area as a master in the stone business. He was instrumental in erecting many landmarks in this area, including the Texas Tech monument at the entrance of the university.

Ralph joined the Baptist church in 1957.  In 1972 he was ordained a deacon at Central Baptist Church in Lubbock. They moved their church membership to Lakeridge Baptist in 1980 where he served as a deacon and on many committees. He was also active in Boy Scouts and Western Little League Baseball for many years. Ralph loved his church and enjoyed volunteering to do many handyman jobs there. He was recognized as Outstanding Deacon of Lakeridge Baptist Church.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Lena Faye Hankins, Hazel Blackmon, and Jeanette Boyd as well as 3 brothers, Glenn Smith, L.H. Smith, and Almie Smith.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patsy of Lubbock, Texas; son, Kenny Smith and wife Joanna of Scottsdale, Arizona; daughter Lisa Ramsey and husband, Mark of Amarillo, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Danielle Fowle and husband Michael of Ladera Ranch, California, Jake Smith, and wife Katie of Long Beach, California, Lindsay Dusenbury and husband Richard of Dallas, Texas, Jill Iseli and husband Andrew of Ladera Ranch, California, and Macy Griffin and husband Cole of Reston, Virginia; 6 great-grandchildren, Juliette, Chloe, Nora, Elizabeth, Poppy and Luke; 1 sister, Lydia Pearl Beadles of Fort Worth; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Thank you to the staff at Legacy Memory Care and Enhabit Hospice for their compassion and loving care of Dad and the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Weaver Cemetery Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
