He was born in Houston, Tx on October 19, 1961. He arrived at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch in the summer of ’72. Razz accredits some of his best memories to being at Boys Ranch. While at Boys Ranch Razz made a lifelong friend in Ken Arthur.  Kenneth Arthur wrote a book about their adventures at Boys Ranch and their many adventures all through the years.  The book, “The Salt and Pepper Gang” was on the Amazon Best Seller list and may still be purchased.  Razz and Ken were closer than brothers, their bond was not to be broken.

Razz worked various jobs over the years after graduating from BR in 1980. These included steel work and landscaping, he was a jack of all trades.

Razz is survived by his son, Christopher and his wife and Grandson. As well as his BRother Ken Arthur and all of his BRothers, his dog Molly and friend and neighbor Jenny Brannon.

; dog, Molly and friend and neighbor Jenny Brannon.

Razz considered Boys Ranch, and everyone involved as his family.  He thoroughly enjoyed a dinner 2 weeks ago with many of his Boys Ranch family from near and far meeting in Amarillo to show their love and support for him.  He also loved attending music festivals and fishing any chance he got.  He was looking forward to planting flowers on his back patio as the weather warmed up.

Razz lived his life his way and passed his way.

In lieu of flowers please make donations for “Razz” to CFBRAA (Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch Alumni Association), P.O. Box 9435, Amarillo, TX 79105

  1. I knew Razz the last 10 years of his life. He broke the mold! He was a great guy and I enjoyed working with him and getting to know him. He loved music and the Pittsburgh Steelers but probably not as much as he loved his dog Molly. I am sad he’s gone but I hope he is free to garden, fish and listen to his favorite songs in heavenly peace. Goodbye Friend

  2. Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “ Jesus plainly told her: “I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.
