Raymond Lee Barrett, 84, of Amarillo, TX died Friday, June 10, 2022.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Hillside Christian Church Chapel, 6100 S Soncy Rd. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Raymond was born September 1, 1937, to S.L. and Opal Barrett in Breckenridge, TX where he graduated from Breckenridge High School. For more than thirty years, Raymond worked for Southwestern Public Service/Xcel. In his spare time, he loved to fish, golf, play pool, and spend time with family and friends.
Raymond was a member of the Optimist Club, Widowed Persons Society, and longtime member of Paramount Christian Church and Hillside Christian Church. He was a volunteer at BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest.
Raymond was a loving father and husband.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Louise Barrett; and his second wife, Veradelle Barrett.
Survivors include his daughter, Celinda Barrett, of Amarillo, TX; and the children of Veradelle, Jan Hazelwood and husband Greg, of Corsicana, TX, and Julie Hawkins and husband Gary; and seven grandchildren.
At the family’s request, please do not send flowers, but instead donate to any of these organizations, Hillside Christian Church, BSA Hospice Care of the Southwest, or SPCA.
