Rev. Tommy C. Messer (T. C), 85, of Amarillo, TX went home to be with the Lord Sunday, November 20, 2022.

 

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 26, 2022, at First Family Church, 6101 Bell St., with Jeff Messer officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Military rites are provided by Volleys for Veterans. A visitation will be held at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 6- 7:30 PM. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

 

Rev. Messer was born November 4, 1937, in Fresno, CA to Thomas Jefferson and Iva Mae (Webster) Messer.  He enlisted in the Navy in 1955, in Amarillo, TX and was honorably discharged in 1959, in San Diego, CA.

 

He married Wanda Lee Franks on April 16, 1960.  She preceded him in death on July 4, 2019. In 1966 they moved to New Mexico where he began his ministry. He was ordained with the Pentecostal Church of God in 1969. He pastored for 53 years and was an Indian Missionary for 10 years. He has pioneered 6 Churches. He moved to Amarillo in 1999 where he pastored Harvest Time PCG until his death.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda on July 4, 2019. His son Tommy Carrol Messer Jr., parents, three sisters, Frances Alti, Helen Buck, Alene Wells and four brothers, Buddy Messer, Jerry Messer, Rev. Donald Messer, Rev Rodney Messer.

 

Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Graham and husband James, of Pearland, TX, and Denise Messer, of Amarillo, TX; sons, Dewayne Messer, of Denton, TX, Samuel Messer and wife Barbara, of Jefferson, Arkansas, and Curtis Messer, of Amarillo, TX; four grandchildren, Zachary, Brandon, Crystal, and Presley; and four great-grandchildren, Dakota, Emma, Zane, and Rian. Many nieces, nephews, and Church family.
