Reynaldo “Rey” Rodriguez, 47, of Amarillo, TX passed away September 15, 2023.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, September 25, 2023 at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Rey was born January 9, 1976 to Reynaldo and Constancia Moreno Rodriguez. Rey woke up every day ready to conquer life and succeeded. He was the best father anyone could ask for; the love for his kids was unconditional, Rey was an amazing husband, and friend. His contagious laughter, his sense of humor, and orneriness were his way of showing his affection. He had a love and passion for motorcycles, low riders, and music. Rey was a man of many talents and skills and known for his audio expertise. He was a hard worker, always fighting to provide for his children. Rey was known by many nicknames: Rey Rey, Bass Boy, Frito Rey, Pepsi Rey, Pollo Gigi Noodle, and many more. He touched many lives and always looked out for anyone and everyone. Rey was a damn good cook and if you had the privilege to taste his food, you know what that’s about. He was truly “one of a kind” and our family will forever miss Rey as his kind heart will never be forgotten.
Rey is survived by his wife, Aranzazu Josie Rodríguez; children, Cedric, Diego, and Aliyah; sister, Juana, Paola, Alice, Lety, and Estella; and brothers, Pedro and Fidencio.
Our deepest condolences. We knew Rey as a very young boy and had the privilege of studying the Bible with him and getting to know his kind and gentle qualities. We are truly sorry for your loss and hope you will find comfort in Jesus words : “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out “ (John 5;28,29)
Loved seeing Rey every day. Always made me laugh. Great guy and friend. He will be missed.
