Richard Towndrow, 62, of Amarillo, TX died Thursday, October 13, 2022.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Family Life Church, 3900 SW 58th, with Robbie Ashlock officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Richard was born May 12, 1960, to Charlie and Pauline (Smith) Towndrow in Kansas City, KS, and grew up in Raton, NM.

He married Geneva Vandivere on July 2, 1982, in Amarillo. Richard worked in the beef industry for more than 40 years, was a great handyman, and loved to hunt.

Richard was a member of Family Life Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and a sister, Debbie Towndrow.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Towndrow, of Amarillo, TX; a son, Ricky Towndrow and wife Bobbi, of Temple, TX; four daughters, Amanda Surber, Tiffany Esquivel and husband Rocky, Genna Towndrow and husband Chris, and Christina Vandivere, all of Amarillo, TX; two brothers, Charles Towndrow and wife Carol, of Raton, NM, and Byron Towndrow and wife Shawna, of Amarillo, TX; a sister, Janice Price and husband Stan, of Canyon, TX; his mother, Nora Towndrow, of Canyon, TX; sixteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Monday, October 17, 2022, at the funeral home.

  6. I just wanna say to family that I’m so sorry for your loss I met Mr Richard when I was with his daughter ,Amanda …..He was a great guy I actually got to work with him at the meat plant. ..He will be missed. .

Richard, you fought so hard but Jesus said “it’s time to rest now and time to come home” I know you are celebrating with Doug, Stanley and all the rest of our family and friends who went before you. You had already started planning your next vacation but the one you had in mind doesn’t compare to the place you are now. You loved and cared for your family fiercely. You were the best “fixit” person I knew. There wasn’t anything you couldn’t fix or repair.
    You are missed so much already. And It’s not a goodbye but I’ll see you again some day.
