Robert Michael Trook, 76, of Bushland, TX died Sunday, March 5, 2023.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Robert was born December 17, 1946, in Springer, NM to Dale and Irene Trook.  He graduated from Tascosa High School and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from West Texas State University.  He taught at Travis Middle School for more than twenty years and worked at Trook Cabinet Company with his family.   He loved golfing, reading, taught ESL from many years, and was a missionary.

Survivors include his wife, Lea Trook, of Bushland, TX; son, Robert Michael Trook II and wife Jennifer, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Jamie Hamous and husband Joshua, of Amarillo, TX; son, Christopher Trook, of Amarillo, TX; daughter, Rhiannon Parrott and husband Jason, of Ft. Worth, TX; a brother, Gary Trook and wife Marilyn, of Amarillo, TX; and five grandchildren, Cameron Parrott, Jana Hamous, Angelina Trook, Van Sawyer Trook, and Aiden Parrott.

  1. My condolences to you, Lea, and to all Bob’s family. I had the privilege of teaching with him at Travis and enjoying some of his delicious barbecue in your backyard. I know you have many wonderful memories which will help sustain you through this difficult time.

  5. Rob and Jen , Dona and I are so sorry for the loss of your father 🙏🙏. I was a year ahead of your dad at Tascosa high but everyone will always remember Trook cabinet 👍.

  6. I had the privilege of having Bob as a friend for almost 40 years. I will miss him greatly but am very comforted that he is at peace in heaven with a glorified body in the presence of Jesus. He spoke often in the last few weeks that he was ready to go be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Prayers for Lea and kids and grandchildren.

  8. He was a GREAT man and proud to call him dad. Though I was a step son, he loved me like his own. I owe my career and athletic success to him. You will be missed but I will see ya again. Love you!
