Roberta “Bobbie” Mitchell Alexander, 106, of Amarillo, TX died Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 29, 2021, in the chapel at First Baptist Church with Rev. Corky Holland officiating.  Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Bobbie was born February 2, 1915, in Tuxedo, TX to Robert and Eleanor Appling.  She was a great homemaker who loved cooking, gardening, reading, and watching sports. Bobbie also worked outside the home; for twenty years, she worked as a bookkeeper at Sears Roebuck.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church, and a member of the Red Hatters, and several Bridge clubs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Marshall “Mitch” Mitchell, and Charles Alexander; son-in-law, Mike Monson; brother, Hobby Appling; and two sisters, Vada Odell and Viola Timmons.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Monson, of Amarillo, TX, and Marsha Crowley and husband Bob, of Aurora, CO; grandchildren, Mickey Monson and wife Linda, Kenny Monson, Tim Monson, Todd Crowley and wife Christie, and Heather Cuda and husband Darren; great-grandchildren, Alex Hatcher and husband Daniel, Tanner Cuda, Sami Crowley, Maddie Cuda, Jack Crowley, Leah JuJare and husband Arvind, and Natalie DeJong and husband Joshua; and two great-great-grandchildren, Charlotte Hatcher and Thomas DeJong.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials to City Church, 205 S Polk St, Amarillo, TX 79101.

  1. Bobbie, Was the sweetest lady you could ever meet She loved to play cards and visit with her friends ,She loved going places and doing things and spending time with her daughters She is going to be greatly missed by everyone who ever met her!!! God Bless Bobbie and her family🙏🙏
