Royce Edward Wainright, 59, of Amarillo, TX died Saturday, December 24, 2022.
Memorial services will be at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, 2800 Paramount Blvd. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
Royce was born April 18, 1963, in Amarillo, TX to JC and Betty (Bowerman) Wainright. He graduated from Caprock High School in 1981 and served in the Army from 1981-83. Royce earned an Associate’s Degree from Amarillo College in 2002.
His professional career included working for Affiliated Foods, Rochester Armored Car Company, and was an appliance technician, and a softball umpire.
He was preceded in death by his father, J C Wainright (Amarillo, TX); and a brother, Jeff Wainright (Amarillo, TX).
Survivors include his mother, Betty Bowerman Wainright, of Lewisville, TX; his sister, Kelly Duvak, of Lewisville, TX; his children, Donavan Wainright and wife Amanda Cantrell, of Haltom City, TX, Jackie Bush and husband Josh Bush, of Amarillo, TX, and Jeffery Wainright, of Carlsbad, NM; and grandchildren, Bree, Avary, Layla, TJ, Jaxton, and Kolbi. He had several nieces and nephews he loved.
