Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 3, 2020, at Channing Cemetery in Channing, TX with Bob Miller officiating.  Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Samuel was born March 10, 1928, to Bud and Crissy Miller.  He married Myrtle Ruth Cravens in 1946.  They made their home in Channing, TX along with their five children.

Sam worked hard to provide for his family starting off picking cotton and working on farms.  He later worked for Burlington & Northern Railroad, which brought him and his family to Channing, TX.  He retired from the railroad in 1989 after 39 years.

Sam was a great man.  He was honest and hardworking believing that a handshake sealed the deal.  His word was all you needed to know he meant what he said.

He had a love for his family like no other.  Not only was he a great father he was also a great grandfather to his grandchildren.  You never left his home not feeling loved.

He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Miller; his daughter, Florence Cramer; son, Jimmy Miller; grandson, Timothy Miller; brothers, Doc Miller, Tuff Miller, and Pete Miller; sisters, Pat Dunham and Estelle Huneycutt; and daughters-in-law, Kerry Miller and Vickie Miller.
