Samuel “Sammy” Escobar, Jr., 39, of Amarillo, TX died October 18, 2020.

A Memorial Vigil Service will be at 6:00 P.M., Friday, October 23, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd Amarillo, TX 79109.

Sammy was born in Amarillo, TX on December 29, 1980, to Samuel Sr. and Patty Escobar. He attended Palo Duro High School.

Sammy was the sweetest, loving, and most out-going person. He was family-oriented and loved spending time outdoors, especially barbecuing. He enjoyed music and was a huge fan of the Houston Texans. He will be missed for his kind words and especially for his witty sense of humor he always had.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alfredo and Consuelo Escobar, and Jeronimo Sr. and Carmen Martinez; and cousin, Mark Anthony Martinez.

Survivors include his parents, Sammy Sr. and Patty Escobar.; children, Savannah Escobar, and Sammy Escobar III; fiancé, Ramona Maes and her son, Apollo; sisters, Patricia Velasquez and husband Alex, and Jennifer Duran and husband Evy; brother, Christopher Escobar and wife Terry; godparents, Alex and Isabel Diaz; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

  1. my condolences go out to Sammys family. I was the ambassador at bsa I would order his breakfast and lunch’s for him. I am so grateful for getting to meet him while he was at BSA

  3. I only got to meet him through Facebook. He was a strong Man by what I saw and by what his sister’s would say about Sammy. My deepest Condolences to all the Family. I know you would have continued being a good inspiration to your little nieces and nephews. I’m glad that Jonah was able to meet you. My prayers for All the Family 💗💗.

  6. Sorry for your loss. I too m a graduate of Palo Duro and have heard of Sammy. I graduated years before him, in 1977. May you find comfort, and peace and may God give each of you strength to carry on with many memories of Sammy’s life.
