Shalon Rosetta Tillotson, 80, of Amarillo, TX passed away on September 15, 2022, in Dallas, TX.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S. Soncy Rd., with Greg Corona and Tyler Leavitt officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Shalon was born in Quitaque, TX on April 19, 1942, to Otho Clifton “OC” and Mamie Rosetta (Whitten) Crabtree.

She was born and raised in a farming family with 7 brothers and sisters. They attended church in Turkey, TX at the First Baptist Church. Shalon accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 8 and was baptized at that time.

Shalon married the love of her life, Ronald Crump, on June 7, 1959. They moved to Amarillo and she was a homemaker and had two children Cindy and Dean. She attended Amarillo College and attained her Associates Degree in Dental Assisting and worked in that field for 8 years.

Shalon changed her career to Personnel and Employment Placement Services and opened Amarillo Employment Agency in 1977.   After her divorce, she married Ray Tillotson in 1979 and was married to him until his death.    She spent a lifetime helping and counseling people with addiction.    She retired in 2007 and moved to Amarillo to be near family.

Her favorite things in life were spending time with her family and friends, music, movies, travel (the beach), decorating, shopping and cooking.  She was the most positive, loving, resilient and influential person that was loved by everyone!

She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother; brothers, Wayne, Clifford, and Morris; oldest sister, Marjorie; and Ronald Crump and Ray Tillotson.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Allen (Kelvin); son, Dean Crump (Nicki); grandchildren, Donnie Allen (Kristi), Tyson Allen (Shan), Jason Allen (Nancy), Brooke Rodriques (Ryley), Jordin Giron’ (Milton), and Cali Crump (Darin); great-grandchildren, Hadley Stephens, Kaitlin Rollice (Caesar), Hannah Stephens-Allen, Weston Allen (Raquell), Jentri, Jaci, Rylan, Jett, Reagan and Emilia; great-great-grandchildren, Kyler and Jovi; siblings, Joyce Shoup (John), Mary Taylor, and Ronnie Crabtree (Kathy); and her favorite pet, Mia.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. – 6:30 P.M., Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home.

Those who desire may make memorial donations in memory of Shalon to Kids, Inc. of Amarillo or Ronald McDonald House of Amarillo.

  1. So comforting to know that Shalon accepted Christ as her savior at age 8. It’s the only thing that matters now.
    I pray daily for you Cindy & Dean.

  2. Shalon always wore a sweet smile and was such a positive, happy person. My sympathy to all her family that she dearly loved. May the Lord comfort you. I will miss this brave lady.
