Sharon Jean Hobbs, 83, of Vega, TX passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 26th, 2022.

Sharon was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was an avid gardener, retired surgery nurse, and a member of Christ’s Community Fellowship Church in Vega, TX.  

She and her twin sister Shirley Jo were born on January 13th, 1939 to Irene and Roddy Harwell.  

Sharon is survived by three daughters, Gina Gregory, Karen Wagner, and Nancy Margaret.  She was also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hobbs; her parents, Irene and Roddy Harwell; her brothers, Richard Lynn Harwell, Don “Tuffy” Harwell, and Roddy “Fuzz” Harwell; and her twin sister, Shirley Jo Scott.  

Services will be held at Christ’s Community Fellowship Church in Vega, TX on Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.

Sharon got her beloved rescue dog “Morgan” from the Amarillo S.P.C.A.  In lieu of flowers please donate to the Amarillo S.P.C.A.

  1. So sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. I worked with her a long time in surgery at BSA. She was an excellent nurse and loved her job and her patients. RIP Sharon! Prayers for comfort for her daughters and families.

  2. I am so sorry to hear of Sharons passing, I loved working with her. She was so fun, and Ill never forget the laughs we shared when she came in to the office. I know she loved her family, and her pup! They made her smile! I will miss her!

  3. I was so sad to hear that Sharon passed away. She was such a pretty lady. It was such a pleasure to work with Sharon in surgery at High Plains Baptist Hospital and then BSA. She was always so kind to her patients and willing to help others in any capacity. We always enjoyed having Sharon as part of our team. God bless you, Sharon. Prayers for all of the family.🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️

  5. Very sad to learn of Sharon’s passing. I remember in first grade our teacher ( Mrs. Brown) wrote Sharon on the back of both your hands one day. That is how we learned to put the correct name on You and Shirley. I have thought of You as a dear friend always. I am sure You have many blessings in heaven as you join Your loved ones.

  7. Prayers of Comfort for all of you. I have so many precious moments growing up with “John Sharon” It would take pages to tell them all. I most remembered how Aunt Sharon always made you feel so welcomed in her home.

  9. I know that sweet Sharon will be missed as she was always doing something for someone in need. It was always a pleasure to work with Sharon in surgery at High Plains Baptist Hospital in the 70’s and then again at Baptist St. Anthony’s in the 90’s. Sharon was a friend, mentor, and a fantastic Registered Nurse that did so much for her patients always going above and beyond. So glad Sharon is with Jesus and saying prayers for her loving family🙏🏻

  11. Oh my dear friend Sharon has completed her journey. Many great times we had laughing around my table eating her fabulous desserts she brought to Life Group. She was a true treasure. We love you and will miss your beautiful smile!
