Sharon Lee Stampe

Sharon Lee Stampe, born Sharon Lee Reed on November 24, 1934, in Charleston, Illinois, peacefully passed away on October 27, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas, at the age of 88. She was surrounded by her family.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Lee H. Stampe, and children Angela Snyder and husband David, Anthony Stampe and wife Catherine, and Jeffrey Stampe. She was a cherished grandmother to Amy Lee Szaller, Benjamin Snyder, Abigail Snyder, and Rachel Snyder, and great-grandmother to Shane, Caralee, Jordy, and Alaina Szaller.

Sharon graduated from Civic Memorial High School in Bethalto, Illinois in 1952. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 and Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 1983 at Eastern New Mexico University.

Throughout her career as a Marriage and Family counselor in Clovis, NM and Amarillo, TX, Sharon had the privilege of assisting in the restoration of several marriages and guiding individuals in receiving Christ as their Savior. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many.

Outside of her professional life, Sharon had a passion for quilting and was recognized for her exceptional talent with numerous awards. Singing was a special joy for her. Throughout her younger years she as frequently invited to sing as a soloist for events, was featured on a radio program, and was a member of the choir at each church she attended throughout her life. She also found joy in reading and cooking, using her cooking skills to train 4H girls in cooking classes and to create delicious meals for her family.

Services to honor Sharon’s life will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, November 1, 2023. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church in her memory. Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors in Amarillo, Texas, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Sharon Lee Stampe will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith will forever be cherished.
