Sharon Patterson Greene, 73, of Calico Rock, Arkansas gained her wings on March 28, 2023.

Private family services were held. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Steve in Calico Rock, Arkansas.

Sharon was born in Pampa, Texas on November 27, 1950, to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Patterson. She was a resident of Calico Rock, Arkansas for 15 years and a resident of Pampa, Texas for 56 years. Sharon graduated from Pampa High School in 1969. She married Steven Green of Pampa on July 6, 1968, in Columbia, Mexico. She later had a triple wedding with friends on the same day in 1969. She worked at the Pampa Nursing Home from 1970-1972, and then the Marie Foundation from 1972- 1974. Sharon then went on to become a legal security and worked for Maguire and Vanderpool from 1974-1978, she took a couple of years off to play a larger roll in her two children’s lives. In 1982, she decided to go to work for Clement’s Flower Shop, as a florist until 1987. The owner of the flower shop asked her to come and work for him as his secretary at Gray County Juvenile Probation where she worked her way up to assistant chief until she retired in 2006. She loved her life and animals while living in the beautiful Ozarks. Sharon took in 5 other children during her life, to help out when their parents were down. She loved those children dearly.

She loved painting, gardening, sewing, making crafts, and taking in every stray animal she could find. She was a wonderful mother and wife.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and Thomas Patterson, of Pampa, Texas; husband, Steven Greene, of Calico Rock, Arkansas; brother, Dale Patterson, of Pampa, Texas; and grandson, Dakota Greene, of Amarillo, Texas.

Survivors include, her son, Shawn Greene, of Calico Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Shana Greene Reese, of Amarillo, Texas; grandsons, Seth Greene, of Calico Rock, Arkansas, and Ryland Reese, of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Richard Patterson, of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Linda Patterson, of North Carolina; two nephews, Troy Patterson, of North Carolina, and Carey Howe, of Tyler, Texas; and two nieces, Maleeya Rivas, Amarillo, Texas, and Kristina Kefalas, of Littleton, Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to our local Panhandle Down Syndrome Guild of Amarillo, Texas.

  8. Sharon was my sister-in-law but my sister at heart. We started our lives together as young wives and mothers. We worked together for nine years and became even closer during those years. I was heartbroken when she moved to Arkansas but was happy for her and Steve to be in such a beautiful place. I will miss her every day of my life but I’m glad she will be at peace with Steve and Dale, her mom and dad and her grandson. I love you, Sharon, Linda
