Susan Nurek Giles, 72, of Amarillo, TX passed away on November 11, 2023.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Arena of Life Church, 8827 S. Washington St. Interment will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors.
Susan was born October 4, 1951, in Amarillo, TX to Don and Joyce Sanders. She attended Amarillo High School and received her nursing degree from Amarillo College. She worked as an LVN for High Plains Baptist Hospital and Dr. David Carruth for over 30 years. She loved cats, watching her children and grandchildren in their sporting events, and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Lola Mae Roberson; and her sister, Cindy Johnson.
Susan is survived by her daughter, Macy Tillman, and husband Jason of Amarillo, TX; son, Sloan Nurek and wife Amanda of Howardwick, TX; lifelong companion and friend, Steve Nurek of Amarillo, TX; best friend, Kathy Johnson; and grandchildren, Mason and Blake Nurek.
The family suggests memorials be made to Animal Rescue Shelter for Cats.
