Terri was born in Amarillo on February 1, 1958, to Donald and Janette Westfall. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1976. Terri Diane Bass was a lifelong resident of Amarillo, TX, and went to be with the Lord on December 5th, 2021 at the age of 63.

“Mama Pie” is a saying that defined Terri. Over the course of our journeys, we have the joy of being raised by not only our parents but by amazing people that come in and out of our lives. Mama pie refers to the collective group of women who play a mother role in your life. Terri had a piece of hundreds of kid’s mama pies. She was without judgment or critique of any child that came into her life. She mothered them, watched out for them, and always listened to them with an open heart. Terri was many things but most definable was, “mom”.

You never had to ask Terri what her favorite hobby was, all you needed to do was see her with her grandchildren. Her favorite word to use was “yes”. She planned everything around them and the fun they could have together- scavenger hunts, night walks, burying treasure in the sandbox, or picking out the perfect little thoughtful toy. She loved Lenox, Jude, and Delilah with every fiber of her being. If they were happy she was happy.

Terri is survived by her mom, Janette Westfall (Amarillo), her husband, Gary Bass (Amarillo), her children, Cody and spouse Ashley (Prosper), Kadee and spouse Teel (Amarillo), her grandkids, Lenox and Jude (Amarillo), Delilah (Prosper), her brother, Donnie Westfall and spouse Tennessee (Amarillo).

On June 20, 1980, she married Gary her high school sweetheart. The Bible says that the act of marriage is the two individuals becoming one. Terri and Gary embodied this verse in a way that has set an example for so many around them. They have been inseparable for 49 years. It was a rare occurrence to see either of them alone. They didn’t only do everything together, but they truly wanted to be together. They were each other’s preference and there was no person they wanted to be with more than one another. On August 3, 1982, and October 11, 1985, Terri and Gary welcomed their two beautiful children, who Terri would say were the most important part of her life.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Trinity Fellowship Church. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Amarillo.
