Tobe Lee Fluty, Jr.

Tobe Fluty Jr. passed from this life Monday January 24, 2023.  Services will be officiated by Joanne Blythe at 4:00 p.m., February 3, 2023, in the Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel, located 2800 Paramount Boulevard in Amarillo.

Tobe was born in Amarillo, Texas on November 8, 1980, to Tobe and Cari Fluty.  Tobe attended Oakdale Elementary, Bowie Middle School, and Caprock High School, in each of these, Tobe excelled in his studies.  During Tobe’s middle and high school years, he traveled the U.S. with the Health Occupations Student of America (HOSA) organization.  His desire was to fully educate himself in all health-related areas.  Tobe was a member of the first class to attend AACAL in Amarillo where he dove head-first into his leadership roles in HOSA.

Tobe also was a member of the Caprock High School Band where he mastered the talent of making a trombone sound beautiful.  Although, in 5th grade as a beginner, his family wondered if that was a possibility.  Tobe was affectionately known as “Mr. Noodle” to those closest to him.  Tobe was a most kind, smart, passionate, and beautiful soul.

Tobe was proceeded in death by his great Grandfathers Robert Lumpkin, George Child, and Aubrey Rodgers, his great-great Grandmothers, Bessie Davis and Betty Arrington, his great Grandmothers Juanita Lumpkin, Margueritte Rodgers, and Viola Child, his Grandfathers, Rolland Manning, and Raymond Fluty, his Grandmothers, Lynn Fluty and Iva Rodgers, and his uncle Eric Rodgers.

Those left to cherish Tobe’s memory are his parents Tobe and Cari Fluty, his sister Steavi Scott and husband Brian Scott, and pride and joy, his nephew Adrian Scott and his niece Abrianna Scott.  Tobe is also survived by his Grandmother Barbara Manning, with whom he had a most special bond, his Grandfather Ardell Rodgers Sr., his uncle and aunt Ardell Rodgers Jr. and wife Jeanette; aunt and uncle Deena Aldrich and husband Daniel; and his beloved Penelope which he and his mom rescued on a frigid January night.  Tobe is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
