Valerie Elizabeth Locke, 67, gained her wings on January 20, 2022.

Services will be held Monday January 24 at 11:00 at Great Plains Western Church in Washburn, Texas and will be cremated. Officiated by Royce Mason.

Valerie was preceded in death by her mother Vonda Clark, and her 2 brothers Rex and Cliff Clark.

Valerie is survived by the love of her life Delwood Locke, her Father Ronnie Clark, 2 children Tony Palmer and his wife Carrie of Denton, Texas and Veronica Gravelle of Fort Worth. Her 3 stepchildren Patty Cabbell and her husband Jim of Claude, Amy Wilkerson and her husband Bobby of Claude and Ryan Locke of Amarillo. 11 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Valerie was a longtime member of the Lonestar Lions Club. She was a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellow award and won lion of the year. Valerie participated in all the Lions Club events and loved working alongside her dear friend Phyllis Elsey. Valerie and her husband Del attended Great Plains Western Church. Valerie was very delighted in participating in all church events with Coela Walker. Valerie loved spending time with her family, cooking and painting. Valerie will truly be missed by all her friends and family.

Valerie was elegant, and imperfectly perfect.

  1. I’m deepest sympathy for your loss may Valerie Rest In Peace with our Lord. I was only made aware of your loss yesterday and I’m truly sorry I didn’t know about her funeral. I pray God brings you rest and comfort in the days to come

  2. Delwood, the Locke family, the Clark family, children and all extended loved ones, we are shattered at the news of losing Valerie.
    She was a beautiful, talented, caring and giving lady.

  3. Valerie was the kindest, most generous, and service oriented woman I have ever known. I will miss her more than I can say. She always had Angel’s wings.

    1. I am so saddened by Valerie’s sudden departure from this world to be with our Lord and Savior. She was one in a million! When she started coming to our church she was full on coming to all services and all the functions being a hands on helper in any way she could.
      She was a character and we all laughed with her at all her forthcomings. She will be greatly missed by all of us. See you again Valerie in our eternal home.
