Velma Pratt Davis, age 89, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on February 18, 2021.
She was born on January 26, 1932 in Claude, Texas, the daughter of Vascus and Hazel Pratt. She was raised in Panhandle, Texas and graduated from Panhandle High School.
Velma was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Glenn, John, Sam and Arty Pratt; and one great-great-grandson.
She is survived by daughters, Chris Duffy and husband Richard, and Nancy Rajchel; son, Marvin Kellison “Kelly” Davis and wife Brenda; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Velma was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She worked as the office manager for Insurance Associates for over 30 years and then retired from William P. Clements Unit, Texas Department of Criminal Justice. She was an active member of the Pilot Club, prayer groups and a volunteer at the Discovery Center and Breast Cancer Survivors Center. Velma had more friends than most. Although she had a great work ethic, she always put family and friends first.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Polk Street United Methodist Church.
