Walter Eugene Kelley, 82, of Amarillo, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023.
Private family services were held. Arrangements were made by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Walter was born in Floydada, Texas on October 13, 1940, to Irene and Ray Kelley.   He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1959.  Walter worked for Frito Lay for 32 years.
He was preceded him in death by his mom and dad, his son, Buddy Kelley, his brothers, Doc Kelley and Sonny Kelley, and his cousins, Jane Kelley-Walker and her husband Ronnie Walker.
Walter is survived by his brother Jerry Kelley (Amarillo); his niece, Kelli Kelley-Diaz and husband Rocky Diaz (Amarillo); great-niece, Kirbi Kelley-Diaz (Amarillo); great-nephews, Jake Mancuso (Amarillo), Jentry Kelley (Amarillo), and Kael Diaz (Amarillo); second cousins, Becky Walker-Brock and husband Mike Brock (Amarillo), Sammie Walker-Shaw and husband Randy Shaw (Lubbock), and Royce Walker and wife Tera (Amarillo).
Hi Jerry. Just found out about Gene from my brother there. I am so very sorry. Have some great memories from many years ago there in Amarillo. May you find peace in all your memories. My deepest sympathy to you and yours!

Gene was a good friend for 70 years.
We were neighbors growing up and had so much fun playing baseball with the neighbor hood kids. We remained friends all through our lives. Gene had a tender heart and helped so many people during his life. So blessed to have known him.
