  1. My condolences to the family. Aunt Georgia, cousins Sheryl and Stephanie, grandchildren and great grandchildren who are also cousins of mine. Uncle Walt was always a joy to visit when I visited my Midwest family.

    Love you all,
    Rebecca

  2. Dr Wood was my favorite math teacher, ever. Better than any math teacher I had from junior high through college.

He was so patient, knowledgeable, kind, and caring. He made difficult math concepts understandable and was always ready to give a struggling student another chance.

Also, he was unflappable in the classroom. I remember when one of my classmates arrived (1) late, (2) with a dog (!); and (3) carrying a bag of Fritos! The classmate lifted one leg of her desk, fitted the dog’s leash under that leg, and proceeded to let her dog munch on the Fritos. Dr Wood’s lesson went forward without missing a beat.

I will miss him, but am happy to read that he had a long and, I hope, happy life. My condolences to his wife and family.

  3. We will miss Walter Wood; our friendly good neighbor of several years. Walter always had a friendly wave when we drove by and he was working on his yard which he kept perfectly neat. We will also miss occasional chats we had with him noting his uplifting view on what ever. I bet there are lots of former students that remember Walter well as a teacher that made a difference in their lives.
